Accredited Programs

Indiana University

Indiana University is an accredited member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The most recent accreditation review by the Higher Learning Commission was conducted during the 2007-2008 academic year, resulting in accreditation for the period 2008-2018. Additionally, the School of Public Health-Bloomington has a long history of seeking external accreditations for our academic programs. A list of current accreditations is provided below:

School of Public Health-Bloomington

The Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington is accredited as a school of public health by the Council on Education for Public Health, the federally recognized organization that accredits schools such as ours.

Graduate Programs

Master of Master of Science in Kinesiology, major in Athletic Training is also accredited by Commission on Athletic Training Education (CAATE)

Undergraduate Programs

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Applied Health Science, majors in:

  • Dietetics - accredited by Academy of Nutrituion and Dietetics Accreditation/Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE); Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • Health Education – Secondary Teacher Preparation - accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Athletic Training is accredited by the Commission on Athletic Training Education (CAATE)

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Kinesiology, major in Teacher Preparation (All Grades/K-12) is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Recreation, has accreditation by the Council on Accreditation for Parks, Recreation, Toursim and Related Professions (COAPRT) for majors in:

  • Outdoor Recreation, Parks, and Human Ecology
  • Public, Nonprofit, and Community Recreation
  • Recreational Sport Management
  • Recreational Therapy
  • Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management
