Workforce Development

At the School of Public Health-Bloomington, we provide a formal structure to support the development of the public health workforce, both domestically and abroad, with a particular emphasis on the public health workforce in Indiana. In order to reach public health professionals in the state of Indiana the School has developed a comprehensive approach towards workforce development which includes:

  • Continuing education programs offered to public health professionals, academic professionals, and students;
  • Assess the development needs of Indiana’s public health professionals;
  • Cultivation and maintenance of community-academic partnerships that serve to enhance the capacity of public health professionals; and,
  • Engagement of students with community partners through internships, practicums, and other service activities.

Continuing Education and Workforce Development

We facilitate and promote life-long learning and continuing education opportunities for public health professionals in Indiana, the US and across the world. Currently, we are partnering with the Indiana State Department of Health to present a workforce development webinar series under the Public Health & YOU umbrella of activities.

Additionally, faculty and staff throughout the school offer topic- and discipline-specific continuing education events throughout the year.
