A Culture of Perpetual Discovery

Faculty and students at the IU School of Public Health-Bloomington are always making new discoveries, whether they're in the lab or wandering campus. You'll be encouraged to do the same.

Our departments and centers support our teaching, learning, research and community engagement, yielding thought-provoking findings and real-world public health solutions both through faculty and student contributions.

The academic programs and faculty within the School of Public Health-Bloomington are organized into five departments headed by chairs appointed by the Dean. Each department offers numerous majors, minors, and some departments offer opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate studies.

More than 140 faculty in five academic departments conduct major research, teach, and engage with communities across a broad spectrum of health, wellness, and disease-prevention topics.

The school's centers and institutes contribute to the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research, teaching, and community service activities. These centers and institutes help to advance our mission to protect and improve the health of the people of Indiana, the nation, and the world.
