SPH LLC students take specific classes together during the fall and spring semesters. During the fall, you will take a three credit-hour course called Living Well (SPH R-142) that counts towards the general education requirement in Social & Historical Studies. In the spring, you’ll take a two credit hour seminar course called A Multidisciplinary Approach to Wellness. In this course, you will meet weekly with guest speakers from all areas of Public Health, including nonprofit directors, conservationists, and sports professionals. During the spring semester, you will also give back to the community through service projects in Bloomington and surrounding areas.
Beyond the classroom, you will have the opportunity to participate in trips to places like St. Louis and Nashville, attend professional development workshops, attend off-campus leadership retreats, and meet with future employers and IU alumni.
Being a part of the School of Public Health LLC means connecting with others and giving back to the community. Throughout the year, we partner with several local nonprofit agencies including Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, Hoosier Hills, the Julian Center, and more.
