Welcome to Dimensions! First launched in 1948 as HPERDimensions, this newsletter has a long tradition of celebrating alumni, sharing stories, and strengthening connections across generations. Today, as we enter our 80th year as a school, we’re excited to carry that legacy forward with a fresh, revived edition that continues to honor our past while building new bridges for the future. Ryan White Memorial Sculpture unveiling at the IMU
The Rural Center for AIDS/STD Prevention (RCAP) welcomed campus and community members on June 10 for the unveiling of “Keep Going,” a new bronze memorial sculpture honoring Ryan White.
Created by Melanie Cooper Pennington of the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design, the piece celebrates White’s enduring legacy and his impact on HIV/AIDS awareness and advocacy. Brief remarks from RCAP leaders and Pennington highlighted the significance of White’s story and the continued importance of education and compassion in public health.
The sculpture now stands in the Indiana Memorial Union as a lasting reminder of White’s courage and the call to “keep going” in the work he inspired.

IU SPH-B students revving up the Indy 500!
More than 40 SPH-B students are gaining hands-on experience at one of the world’s most iconic sporting events through the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) College Program. In partnership with Career Development and Alumni Relations, students are supporting operations across the Indy 500—from guest experience to pit access—while building valuable industry skills. This growing collaboration continues to provide students with real-world insight into large-scale event management and meaningful connections within the sports and hospitality industry.

Meet the Dean - Boomington Event
The Meet the Dean event in Bloomington was a wonderful success, bringing together alumni, friends, and members of the SPH-B community for an engaging evening of connection and conversation. Attendees had the opportunity to meet Dean Kurt Ribisl, hear his vision for the future of the school, and reconnect with fellow Hoosiers in a welcoming and inspiring setting.
Building on this momentum, we are excited to continue the series with upcoming Meet the Dean events in Indianapolis and Chicago. We look forward to connecting with even more of our incredible SPH-B community and continuing these meaningful conversations across the region.
