The Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington community is pleased to share that three of our distinguished faculty members have been named 2026 Excellence in Nutrition Fellows by the American Society for Nutrition (ASN).
Department of Applied Health Science Associate Professors Temitope Erinosho, Nana Gletsu Miller and Adjunct Professor of Practice/Dean’s Eminent Scholar Kevin Maki will be formally inducted during NUTRITION 2026, the ASN annual conference to be held in National Harbor, MD from July 25-28. The award is reserved for nutrition professionals that have been an ASN scientist, clinician, or professional member for five or more years who have made a significant impact to their respective career fields as well as to the Society.
“It is a humbling honor, given the impressive accomplishments of the past and current Fellows of ASN,” shares Miller. “This recognition of my accomplishments by my peers is meaningful to me.”
Miller’s laboratory studies nutritional status in obesity and following weight loss intervention. Erinosho focuses on obesity prevention in under-served children and families, researching effective interventions that promote healthy eating and exercise. Erinosho was selected for the 2025 Outstanding Reviewer Award by the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (JAND). Maki’s research on prevention and management of cardiometabolic risk factors and diseases is well-regarded in the public health community, with research published earlier this year on the relationship between consuming beef and Type 2 Diabetes.
“I am thrilled that ASN provides this recognition for nutrition scientists who are mid-career,” adds Miller. “It helps me to know that I am on the right track in my efforts in research, teaching and service in the field of nutrition.”
