Please note: The SPH-B Student Recognition Event is separate from Indiana University Commencement. At IU Commencement, graduates from every school across campus gather in traditional graduation attire (cap and gown), and students are not recognized individually. Spring 2026 SPH-B Student Recognition Event
Ceremony Date: May 9, 2026 Ceremony Location: IU Auditorium
Ceremony 1: 9:00 a.m. (alphabet divide TBD)
Ceremony 2: 11:30 a.m. (alphabet divide TBD)
Due to the large number of graduates, two ceremonies will be held and divided by last name. The alphabet division will be announced after the student RSVP deadline.
This is a ticketed event. Students are responsible for managing their own RSVP and guest tickets. Additional information can be found in the FAQ below.

Students are responsible for managing their own RSVP and guest tickets. This involves two separate steps that your student must complete:
RSVP for the event—this is for the student only.
Reserve guest tickets—after submitting their RSVP, students will receive instructions from IU Auditorium on how many guest tickets they may claim.
Guest ticket availability depends on the total number of student RSVPs. Any additional tickets may be released later. Students will receive all notifications and instructions regarding guest tickets directly by email.

Guest ticket quantities will be dependent on the total number of student RSVPs. After the student RSVP window closes, they will receive instructions from IU Auditorium on how many guest tickets they may claim. Additional tickets may be released at a later time. All guest ticketing information will be sent directly to the student's IU email.
Yes. The names of participating students will be read aloud during the ceremony.
Students should dress in business professional attire. Honor cords and stoles may be worn. The traditional cap and gown are not worn for this event.
Doors open 30 minutes before each ceremony.
Students will receive separate guidance about arrival time and lineup instructions.
Free parking and shuttle service to and from the Auditorium will be offered from eitherHenderson or Poplars garages. Park at Henderson or Poplars garages, board the shuttle, then take the ride to the Auditorium.
Shuttles will begin prior to the event and will provide pickups estimated every 15-20 minutes. When the event concludes, the shuttle will return you to the garage.
Roads near the IU Auditorium will be limited to IU Vehicles only, therefore it is recommended that guests with limited mobility utilize the free shuttle service. There will be an ADA accessible shuttle on the established route.
